Founded in London in 1990, the World Religions Photo Library is a major source for images of the world’s pre-eminent faiths: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism and Sikhism.
As well as people practising their chosen belief, the collection features places of worship, and religious art, rites of passage, sacred foods and places of pilgrimage, religious festivals and ecclesiastic and votive objects. Jainism, Zorostrianism, Shinto, Taoism and Tribal/Ethnic are also stocked.
Photographs from the collection have been published in more than 30 countries by leading academic publishers including Oxford University Press, Hodder Education, Houghton Miffin, Pearson, Heinemann, Hachette and Macmillan.
